Ozzy - CAG (born April 2010)

Bubbles - B&G Macaw (born Jan. 2012)
Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum. My name is Sonya and I have an African Grey named Ozzy who I got when he was 15 months old. He is now 3.
I also have a Blue and Gold Macaw named Bubbles who is 1.5 years old. I have only had Bubbles for 2 weeks so we are still getting to know each other.
I do not know anything about Ozzy's previous home but was told the man did not like him. It took a while to adjust to him as he can be very temperamental. We love him to death though and couldn't imagine life without him.
Bubbles on the other hand the people we got her from seemed to love her and care for her when I first went to see her and I worked out a deal for them to let her stay another week and a half with me visiting and get to know her. As I got to know more about her it became apparent that she was put out on a perch in the yard all day and that she was housed in a cage in the garage with the doors shut and no windows for a lot of the time. They made a big deal about how much they loved her and didn't want to get rid of her and could they check on her and see her and I have heard nothing from them which is fine but I have begun to question how she was cared for. They told me she is very loud and screams but it is only an occasional scream so far and for the most part she talks with very few screams. They told me she would scream for the first 4 days since she did when they got her but she has not done that. I know I have not had her long so I may be in for a screamer but so far she just talks. They also told me she doesn't use any bad words and she says the F word which is so upsetting to me as I hate fowl language. I will post in another section though to ask this question. She loves coming out and spending time with everyone and for the first time last night she let my hubby scratch her head and she loved it.
Well anyway this is an intro to me and my flock. I look forward to meeting others and reading through the threads.

Hi Sonja and welcome to the forum. :)

So glad you joined us. Please, if you have some pictures of your babies, we'd love to see them.

Welcome to the forum!!! Congrats on your new fid.

Welcome to the forum Sonya!
Sounds like your B&G needed rescuing! So glad she's in your care now :) a yard perch and cage in a garage is no place for a bird or any animal for that matter!
Enjoy the forums, you'll like it here :)
