Inquiry for food for Pahadi Parrot

Hi Friends !

I have just joined Parrot Forum, I have one query, there is some one who told me that PAHADI PARROT only eats - Channa Dal all their life. Is this true? can any one help me know what all they can eat. It is a little urgent.

Please be a little more specific about the parrot. I do not know this kind and others may not either. Have you done a google search??

The parrot your inquiring about wouldn't happen to be an Alexandrine Parrot?

The Chana Dal your refering to is like a yellow split pea.

If i am correct & to answer your question no these parrots don't just eat that food but it is a food that they can eat.

My Alex's eat a variety of fresh fruit & Vegies. A small amount of dry seed & pellets. Raw nuts.

I just looked it up, its a local name you guys call them Pahadi but we call them Indian Ringneck. And no, they can eat a variety of food including pellets, seeds, fruits & veggies etc...

I would like to know what is the better food for Alexandrine Parrot's baby....???
i got couple of them and it's pretty urgent
They can eat yellow split peas but is there anything that i can feed them..???
remember they are too small
