Hi everyone!
We have had our baby sun conure for almost 2 months. He will be 6 months old soon. We have done very well with socializing him, my husband, 17yr old, 4.5yr old and I have definitely set the groundrules. We immediately clicker trained him to spin, shake a claw, wave and hang like a bat.
He's vocalizing really well, practising words (he likes "good boy" lol) rather than random screaming.
HOWEVER, our house has 3 levels. When I am out of his sight on the same floor I call to him with a "hello", he responds with his nice chirp. But as soon as I am out of earshot he screams for my reply. It is impossible to go upstairs to gather a load of laundry and take it downstairs without deafening any poor soul that is on the main floor.
How do i correct this? It is only me that he does this with.
Generally I am up and showered before everyone else is awake. One day I had a shower in the afternoon and the poor little guy screamed for 10 minutes before he gave up on calling me.
