Interested in new macaws

Hi everyone,

I'm going to visit a parrot shop tomorrow, who are selling beautiful military and blue & gold macaws, I maybe want to buy one of those, but I haven't seen a military in real life yet. Any tips or advice?

Of the two, I'd go with the B&G... if this is your first large macaw.

Militaries can be very beaky.

Nah. They're still pretty confident birds.

What you get, every once in awhile, is a B&G that is high strung and hyper... but that usually mellows out with age. Young B&G's can be pretty hyper... they play hard!

Militaries are just a notch or two below scarlets for beakiness... and they are also a bit more prone to one person issues. (But then, all pair bond birds are! Which really only means make sure you do more socialization with them.)
