Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
.. He doesn't wanna try anything...BUT..I just went to my local grocery store to get lunch, they make stuff right there in the store, and I picked up one of those black plastic bowl thingies that has a Flank steak, cooked carrots, and I put a spoonful of shepard pie in it and sat down here at the computer, while BB was walking about.

He got on my desk and watched me eat. Then he went to try stuff! he ate/picked at a bit of steak..a couple nibs at the smashed 'tatos and carrots. He ate more sitting with ME,than if I just put it on his plate.
Maybe this will be the key to him eating better things..to share poppi's lunch with him. I just wish he'd STOP walking all over the food!  :o

Oh yeah, that's a big one for Dusty too. Very social eater as I discovered during the first couple weeks after I got him. He lost quite a bit of weight after coming home with me and it seemed like he only ate when I was watching him. So I watched him a lot and made sure to have my breakfast near his cage to encourage him. At 82 grams he's still a bit small for a tiel and I keep encouraging him. He's also WAY better about trying foods I'm eating than he is about trying stuff I set out for him. Best way to get him interested I think is to guard it so he can barely see. Drives him crazy, haha

Thats also how I get Mr Biggles to eat new things...sometimes he will like them dometimes hecwont but usually after watching me eat food for a while he will try too :)

They are definitely social eaters, and walking over food is just so natural to them!!
