I have come across a slight problem and I am not exactly sure how to handle it. Since we got Billy everything has been great except that he will not stop landing on Ziggy's cage, which she isn't happy about. For awhile he would fly around the cage but never actually land on it, but more and more, he lands right on top of the cage. Ziggy will do one of three things, she will sit there and give him the most evil look she can, she will lunge towards him but not actually move her feet, or she will full out run towards him with her mouth gaped open. He is a quick little guy and so far he has taken off in flight before she could actually reach him. I am just so afraid that she may actually get ahold of him one of these times and she is over three times his size. :/ I have noticed that when she lunges at him, she doesn't seem like she is actually trying to bite him, she just pins her eyes and hits her beak on the bars near him, but she never actually bites down with her beak, if that makes any sense. Kind of like when IRN's lunge, they are making the biting motion but not actually biting down. But anyway, I could really use some advice on this one. Ziggy lived with a CAG and a caique before and seemed okay with them so I thought this transition would be smoother than it has been. Clipping Billy isn't an option, he is four and a half years old and has never been clipped and I refuse to do it to him. I also would like to allow Ziggy to remain unclipped when she molts again, probably sometime in february. Also, if I hold one bird on each arm they don't show any aggression towards each other, they just sit there and look at each other, no gaping or pinning. I haven't let them actually touch each other yet though, I am too afraid to, I would never forgive myself if something happened to one of them. It just seems like she gets REALLY mad when he is on HER cage, which is understandable, I just don't know what, if anything, I can do about it.
