That caught your attention didn't it?
I'm not sure if I have told you guys earlier about Ethel's play date a few weeks back. I took her to a friends, who has the Eclectus, Alexandrine, Lorry in rehab (plucker), geriatric budgie (he's looking awesome! He just can't seem to tell the difference between a cage and a washing basket,) and 'Special'. She was given him by a contact who asked her to take him, as he can't be sold. She's weaning him atm, has asked me to consider having him at my place, as I have smaller birds and she wants to concentrate on her big fids.
He's 'Special' because his head can go right back into his back, as though he has a double jointed neck, hence Karena being given him.

Wow, cute photos. the bird is actually double jointed in it's neck, do they know for sure? That's amazing.

They have no idea, It goes back further then that though, like right back into his back. So far, there have been no signs that it effects his quality of life. He just sleeps funny :)

Those are cute NZ. I love lorikeets. What does that one have around its neck? I can understand a plucking barrier, but that seems shredded? Is it a distraction method?

As far as I am aware its just a little tatty, but a jersey type thing to keep him warm and give the new feathers a chance. The avian vet that supports my friend in her rescues has given him a little bucket, like you would give a dog, but it is too funny to see, and I think it upsets the lorry

Very cute pictures. Beautiful birds. Are you keeping Special?
