I have already posted a few questions so thought I should introduce us here. Thanks to those who have responded to my questions.
We were blessed to be at the right place at the right time and were able to bring Mattie home.
She had been in a rescue in Florida when her former owner adopted her. D had her for almost 2 years when she moved back home to from FL for a new job. She started working 7 on/7 off and was traveling to her boyfriend's on her 7 off, so this meant Mattie was spending much time alone, except for D's dad who sat for her while she was gone. Her words to us 'it's just not fair to Mattie and I need to find her a good home.' She asked if we could be that home and we agreed.
She joined up on April 9th, and has been doing very well. We are all still getting used to each other and trying to take it slow.
