Flash - DF violet Indian Ringneck. Crash - lutino Indian Ringneck
We get wild parrots visiting our yard. King parrots, lorikeets and rosellas so far. We're building a feeder to encourage them to visit so we should get them quite often.

I was thinking it could be good for my parrot (an Indian Ringneck) to be outside when they are around to see and hear other parrots. Probably they wouldn't come too close but I guess there is a chance the wild birds would come close to investigate.

Does this sound like a good idea? Is there any risk? Could my parrot catch anything from the wild ones? Could a wild parrot be aggressive and hurt mine if it did get close?

Yes, they could carry disease. From what I've read and believe it wouldn't be a good idea.

Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease is pretty common in Australia, especially among wild Cockatoos. I wouldn't risk your Alex by exposing him to wild birds.

Yikes, they don't sound fun at all. I guess zie will just have to listen to them from inside the house.
