Is it normal for my lovebird to defend me from my indian ringneck

Okay, So my lovebird was on my hand and my Indian ringneck leaned in to bite my hand and my lovebird bit his beak and practically defended my hand from the ringneck biting me. Is this normal?

Yep, might even defend you from other humans. Thought it's more like he's protecting his prize.
