Is my bird having seizures?

So i have a red whiskered bulbul, and it was sick awhile back. Ever since it recovered, i noticed that it experiences something that looks like a seizure to me everyday. This has been ongoing for the past 2-3 weeks, and I'm not sure what it is. It's tail would move up and down violently, wings would flap and its mouth would open and flick its tongue up and down, while seemingly gasping for air or make some sort of squealing sound. It has happened quite often but it doesn't appear to be sick or have any changes to its appetite, so I'm not sure if it's experiencing seizures or if it's supposed to be normal. It's my first bird, and I do not have any experience.. Thank you for your time

Welcome!

I am so sorry that your bird is having troubles. I don't have the expertise to assess the problem, but I hope you can find some professional help. Good luck, and good for you, for reaching out here.

In my opinion, any of the vets listed here should be better than a regular vet.
International contacts, too.
Or... sometimes I find a place to start just by Googling "avian veterinarian near ((your location))"

Hi there. I can say with almost 100% certainty that you are the first and only member who is keeping a Red Whiskered Bulbul. I looked up some info on them. Is it possible this is mating behavior? Here is what I found:

Most of the breeding activities occur between December to May in southern India and March to October in northern India.

Other then that - nothing. If your really worried, I would again seek out your certified avian vet (CAV) and get their input.

A cute looking bird for sure!

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to you and your beautiful bulbul. Like "Wrench," I had to Google and learn more.

Can you describe the sickness and method of treatment? None of us are veterinarians, but might help us offer basic advice.

Where are you located? Bulbuls of all types are relatively common songbirds in my country, so if we're in the same country, I might be able to direct you to some groups who specialise in songbirds..
