Is this a good name for my conure?

I have a crimson bellied conure and I’ve named him Hedwig. However, I’m not sure if it’s just him but he does not respond to his name. Could it be because the name “Hedwig” is not so prominent compared to names like “Kiwi” or “Loki”?

Parrots have to learn what their human names are. You could call him "Dog" or "S**t Head" he won't care, just be consistent when you talk to or about him. Hedwig is a fine name.

PS , please don't name him S**t Head. If you ever need to rehome him and he starts saying "Hi S**t head" it's going to be a tough sell.

I agree with the above, he will learn his name in time.
