Hi, recently a tornado hit and wiped out a lot of the areas around me, it completely wiped out the power, the whole town has none. The only choice we had was to go to my fiances mother's house, where she has these built in heaters that were running. We turned them off and brought the one I have for him. But I'm sick to my stomach and freaking out. Is this heater safe?! It's a older house. They're built into wall. I think they say they're raywall.

If the unit (gas fired unit) is piped to the great outdoor it's safe.

If it is an electrical headed ceramic style heater it depends of its age and manufacturer. Over twenty-five years you are likely safe. Remember if it has been-off since last year, you will want to have it burn-out the dust Outside!
