I don't think so. Maybe an infection?

It is the first I noticed it, however she acts normal.

I'd go to a good AV, i don't like the way that looks but will will keep my guesses to myself. I;d see about a PPV test. It's sort of like birdie herpes.

Is this a emergency or something that can be done on Thursday. I do not want to risk it if it can get bad, however, if it can wait until Thursday I can go to the vet without the big cost of emergency hours.

What is PPV btw?

No not an emergency. It'a virus ,sort of like herpes. But PPV looks sort of bubbly,i'm no vet. So i'd take her soon and get a professional opinion.

Ahh I see. Treatable? Should I separate my birds into different rooms?

Yes ,but i think it's only transmittable by contact. Better safe than sorry IMO.

BTW, this PPV is found in the birds...rear end? This appears to be her butt?

Yes ,it's generally a sexually transmitted virus.

Ok, looks like my birds not as innocent as I originally though :( Thank you for all the advice, I will set an appointment for Thursday.

lol
sorry just thinking my mind

Poor birdy. My first thought was prolapse? But since everyone else is on the infection route...

Personally, I'd have had him rushed to the vet by now just incase it is something like a prolapse which can be fatal if left. Might be nothing too sinister, but isn't it worth being on the safe side?

Its an infection for sure but nothing to worry yourself over

How are you so sure? Have you seen this before?

Looking at info on cloacal prolapses and seeing the images, is what it looks like to me. I'm not vet, but y'know. I'd hate to be brushing this off as nothing when I think it looks serious.

My reasoning for thinking this too is that it was noticed after 'SHE' went to the bathroom. Prolapse is more common in hens and also if the bird has been 'straining' itself to poop, it can cause stress and make the prolapse happen. Just my 2 cents, but yes, swiftly off to the vet I'd be going.

Hope it turns out to be nothing and you just have a big bill. x
