Is this safe for use in lovebird nesting box

I THINK this is ok; my exotic vet used to use “yesterday’s news” paper pellets as they are not dusty and don’t have pine or cedar oil. But, I also think the babies could eat anything. I am not sure if you need to add stuff to the nest box. I was hoping someone else would answer.
