So recently a person gave me lots of yarn and I thought I could make something for my bird. Then I noticed that It could get my bird's nails stuck on the string and I don't know If It's safe or not.

I think your instincts are right. Too much risk of a claw or leg or neck getting entangled, I would not use it for my birds either.
