Is this Waffle maker bird safe?

Hello all,
For Christmas my mom recently got my dad the PowerXL stuffed wafflizer. It states on the box that it is PFOA free, but I like to triple check before doing anything that could potentially harm my little buddy. I have a sun conure and usually prefer they run any of these kinds of purchases by me before getting them, but this was out of my control.

Cannot go wrong exercising extreme caution and diligence! Quite unusual for the box to disclose PFOA status, may be enlightened and ethical manufacturer. I'd be a bit skeptical as waffle apparatus tends to operate at higher temps, increasing risk of lethal discharge in the event PFOA actually present. Unless convinced of disclosure veracity, I'd prefer to use device outside ie porch, patio, etc just to be absolutely safe!!
