So I have noticed Jerry has been itching his nose a lot, so much so he seems to have lost a little bit of his fluff around the nasal area.

There is no discharge or runny nose in an see, but he is itching it every so often. Can I remedy this or try anything? Or does this require a quick vet visit? I didn't want to take him so early or before he would step up but I will if you guys think I should.

can you give us a picture?

Is it his actual nose or the areas surrounding the cere? Is he sneezing as well?

It's the area surrounding the cere, it's really difficult to get a picture at the moment because he is so new. I will give it a good go though. I'm more worried now.

He hasn't sneezed at all yet, while I've been with anyway. All day today x

Sorry it's poor quality, I used a lot of zoom! Can you see the cere is slightly bare?

They could be tiny pins he's trying to crush. Do you see any pins on his face? From what I can see it looks like he's got some new ones coming in on his cheek.

He has loads of pin feathers! Literally tons all over his poor head and upper back.

Shall I try and mist him with water tomorrow to ease it a little?

The dry air seems to bother my quakers more than it does the other species. I mist my quakers every other day in addition to baths they take on their own. Warm mist seems to help with the pin feathers as well. Is he scratching the area around his cere with his foot or on a scratchy perch? I had to take a scratchy perch out of my male quaker's cage for a while because he was scratching his face on it so much.

It wouldnt be that nasty scaly face taking form would it?
There is stuff to get for that. It can also scaly their legs too, might be worth a check.

Well I bet if he's got tons of pin feathers around his face as you say, that's most likely what he's scratching. Hard to see the pic. Does that sound like that could be it?

Oh, and that pic of his face is SO CUTE!
