Kiwi Stardust - a green cheek conure
The playstand arrived today - hooray!!! Kiwi couldn't wait for Christmas so we agreed to open and assemble it and then get a few more toys for it that she can open for Christmas ^.^

She played on it for about ten minutes tonight and seemed to enjoy it..she's pretty much explored the whole thing. I filled one bowl with little chatchki toys and the other with her harrison pellets and some millet.

Looks great!! I really want to get one too but mine wouldn't stay on it, my shoulders are much more fun to be on. That was a great idea with the rope perch that you added. Very nice!

Yes, indeed, Kiwi, you might well look smug, that is a FABULOUS setup, you lucky little bird.

Oh that's awesome! She looks like she likes it! :) Where did you get it????

Awwwwwwwwww....she's so cute in that last picture on the play stand....She seems quite happy and content. Very nice play stand!!!! :)

Lucky Kiwi! I love the pics - she seems so happy. :)

I built several bird stands out of tree branchs and placed them throughout the house. Lily would not stay on any of them long. As soon as I am 2 steps away from the stand I put her on, she flies back onto my shoulders. She does not stay on the stand even when I am in the same room with her. She just rather be on my shoulders. Conure doesn't like to play alone. Buying toys for her is a waste of money. She doesn't touch them. Chewing cardboard boxes is much more fun for her. :)

So far I haven't come across a toy that she has no interest in - lol. She loves all her toys, but has a very short attention span and therefore needs ALOT of them. She's already chewed through a bunch that I've had to frankenstein together to make a new recycled one. Luckily she's pretty independent and can play happily on her own. I love to just sit and watch her dangle and swing and play.

She loves cardboard too - anything chewable really. My husband has gotten very good with hiding all his favorite books from our little feathered monkey!

Love I want one

Thank you for sharing. Glad to see Kiwi gets spoiled a little. Captain Jack has a playstand on top of his cage and has a wooden playstand big enough to house a African grey or medium birds (which I bought from Dr Fosters and smiths). Sometimes, our family does Christmas shopping after Christmas and exchange gifts in January. Anyways, that is a nice play stand. I wonder if it is big enough for both small and medium parrots. That is something that would be good to have but I also debated if I should get or make a pcv stand. I will have to look closer at Amazon since they seem to have decent stuff at a fair price. I remember Stevie's owner got a big cage for a decent price off of Amazon.

I got mine this week, too. Though no bird yet. GCC still being weened.

I wrapped sisal rope around top bar because I read a review that said bird spent a lot of time up there and the bar was too thin.

Can't wait to see it used.

Omygosh! I read that review too!! LoL! I wrapped mine as well but not quite as nicely as yours!!! I like how you covered the entire bar - I'm going to redo mine so it's closer to what you have done. Kiwi DOES love to stand up there and look around, as I'm sure your new baby will do too. I also criss-crossed the ladders with sisal to make it an easier climb for her.

Abigail: I can see this working with medium parrots too (so long as you thicken up the thinner bars with sisal rope), but I believe they do make medium and large versions of this playstand
