I had put him in Aces cage so we could go to the front room together. Went back to my room and took him out of Aces cage. He stepped up right away. I backed up about 3 feet from their cages and ask Jet do you want me or do you want your cage. He started flapping his wings and flew up a foot and over 3 feet to return to his cage.

Right now I'm having the opposite problem with my babies, they rather fly to me then back in their cage. With 5 babies I have them on my head, arm, and shoulders..... :)

I'm just glad he doesn't drop like a rock anymore. He has 2short little tail feathers growing In and his wings are getting stronger. The only "problem" is keeping him away from my glasses.

Was he not trained to fly before when he fledged?

They said he was. I think he just had a bad clip. He could not even glide.

How he recover his flight feathers so quick?

I didn't realize Jet was so young! He's adorable, such a sweet face.

Sweet Pea had a terrible clip at about the same age as Jet. It was already done before I met her. She went through two molts before the clipped feathers were replaced. By the time her new feathers came in, she had gained enough confidence to be a good flyer.

Mickey I don't know. I give him lots of out of cage time. About 2 weeks ago he started flapping his wings a lot. He would watch Ace fly and flap his wings. Then today he flew.

Thanks Allee. When I got him a month ago they said all the babies hatched 3 to 5 months ago.

Does he have the long primary feathers on him?

I went back and looked at the only side pic I had from when he first came home and he didn't have any. Now he has 4 on each side at the end.. I'd been worrying about his tail so much I didn't notice. He had lost all his tail feathers. Then he lost at least I set that was growing in. Also with ma being so sick the fids didn't get asmuch attention as nornal this month. Now that she is on the mend I play with them more.About a week ago I started giving them seed for molting birds. Still working on getting them on pellets

Mickey I'm sorry to make you search but I haven't figured out chronicler so my pics are limited. I posted the most recent pic of Jet in show us you're Cockatiels please.

Well now he has 1 on his right side and 4 on his left. Three fell out yesterday. All from the same side.
