Excuse this picture (and my terrible attachment skills, really need to learn how to do this...

), since Callum apparently screams with one eye open and the other closed.
Callum's favorite activity? Screeching. He's very vocal for being just a normal phenotype green cheek conure. If he isn't calling for me or just getting excited with me and making loud noises, he's often making small muttering noises. Saying his name or nickname are second only to him imitating my laugh.
Callum is a 2.5 year old DNA-confirmed male GCC. He loves to follow me around the house, sit on my shoulder, and just generally be very close. I originally intended to upload a picture of him giving kisses or cuddling, but as soon as he sees my phone, he wants to bite it.
I took Callum home shortly after my dog had to be euthanized. I was in a very bad state of mine and needed to redirect my attention to something more productive and I craved the close companionship I just lost. Perhaps a bit foolishly, I decided on a bird. Originally, I was going to adopt an older GCC, but he found his forever home before I could go forward with the adoption. Then when I went looking for other GCCs in need of homes, I couldn't find any and went to a breeder a little while later.
Breeder greeted me with a single baby bird on a chilly December afternoon and I took him home. My grandma's favorite picture of him is when he's looking out the car window.
Fun fact about Callum! He was meant to be my baby. He began cuddling up to me on day one and upon looking at his little hatch certificate, I found out his hatchday was exactly a week before I had to euthanize my dog. And, originally, I was going to name him Trico after the big bird...cat...dog...thing in the game, The Last Guardian. I decided on Callum instead.
Not really a brief thing about Callum, but... close enough right?
