Well as another one that lives 15 minutes by train from the Central Business District(CBD) of Sydney, the main things I see are skinks and some native birds. To really start seeing mammals you need to get out of Sydney by about 50+ k's. Most of our what suburban wildlife was killed by early settlers, and a lot of the smaller wildlife is very vunerable to dog and cat attack.

My daughter is currently doing for her Honours fossil research into pigmy possums habitat. She is finding that the pigmy possums are really being pushed to extinction by cats and dogs, and land clearance. The same as everywhere around the world where land clearance is happening.

I think the best thing also to understand Australia is that Queensland which is a state that is currently flooding, has flooding that would cover France and Germany combined or the state of Texas and another medium sized american state combined. So we have a varst biodiversity where it comes to animals and where they are located.

Cheers

Kangaroos? I think it is good to see here. Hope you have some photos to share. :D

i live in Victoria and 10 minutes from a National park, theres hundreds of kangaroos and koala's, i have also seen emu's and heaps of wildlife, we had a koala in our back yard last year and have to be carefull travelling at night because of the kangaroos and every night we get heaps and heaps of galahs flying over to a big tree to rest for the night,
