so today i took remington to get his nails trimmed and i was told not to use concrete or sandpaper perches because of the wear on the feet, so what does one do?

We use the safety perches , alot of them,LOL, they are smooth on top and rough on the sides. Seem to help wear down the nails without harming their feet and easy to clean.

i will have to google them, not familiar with that type of perch

let me know if you have trouble finding them ,i know my wife orders them from Dr's Foster and Smith. drsfostersmith.com i think

I have found a safe cement perch. It is great for their feet, but I don't know the name of it! Luckily in an hour I'm going to the place I bought it from so I'll get the name of it for you. But it has a smooth part for the feet and the sides are rough-ish for the nails. It works great! And it was recommended to me by a breeder who has a store where he sells his parrots.

Okay, I found the perch online. It's called the Safety Perch. http://avianenrichment.com/store/pc/SAFETY-PERCH-133p1453.htm

thank you~ since he has gotten his nails/beak trimmed he has fallen of his perch twice, so i swapped out to smaller ones, hopefully that will help!

We bought one like the one your talking about at the bird fair. I don't remember the name of it though....
