THE HOPPY RED RUMP STORY
Introduction.
So we have had this Red Rump for nearly 7 years. To date.
He has been indoors, in a large cage being released every day to fly or play with toys that we made for him.
Also he always hear/ sees us as the cage itself placed in front dining room window.
Looking in he can see/hear us in Dining, Kitchen and Lounge Room.
So he doesn’t know any different.
Come to think of nether do we.
Also this was a rescue bird which was only a baby when we found it.
All I can suggest if you want to have Red Rump Parrot as Pet be prepared to with them 24-7.
Below put some videos together showing some things we done to make his life bit better.
And hopefully this will also help other people with their birds.
So follow us in the trip from when we found him to Now.
Here is how we come to have Hoppy.
Date: 19th January 2016.
On arriving from work, wife noticed a bird hopping across the driveway into the grass in front of vehicle.
As it couldn’t fly just hoped through the grass was easy to catch.
On closer inspection it was a baby Red Rump, first though it had been kicked out of the nest.
He was very thin we noticed had clubbed foot.
So we named him Hoppy.
PS We do have videos on his trip to now but don't think this is allowed on here.
OK been told can have some videos so here a few.
So then we realized Hoppy had great difficulty standing on a perch keeping balance so not to fall off perch.
Here is video we did showing what type of perch we made for him.
As well as playlist how we made them.
