Kiwi is going to start a thread so we don’t clog the forum. Kiwi is a jenday conure who is ambitious, curious, and is very sassy. Here’s a funny but cute photo of Kiwi. I can’t drink, or eat anything without Kiwi getting involved. Conures LOVE tea. Kiwi will fly from anywhere in my house to get a sip of tea. Who knows why 🤦‍♀️ I just call it a conure moment. Conures are clowns 🤡

I wanted to gather thoughts… Kiwi’s cage is closed off on the top. It makes it harder for light to get through. I just changed her to this cage. Does anyone know if this is just too much dark for a parrot? I got this cage because it’s very heavy, and sturdy. She can’t chip the paint as easily.

So adorable!!!! Thanks for the pics! Keep ’em coming!
I don't get the alarm clock treatment, my hubby gets up before me so Sunny is quiet. But the SECOND i make a noise in our bedroom- schreech! She stays satisfied with hubby being up until she hears the bed making a creak when I roll out on my side- no way I could ever get out of bed without her knowing!

I've been thinking about getting Kiwi a conure friend just because of how social conures are. I've always worried about her getting lonely. I recently started talking to someone looking for a home for one of his conures. I have thought about taking it on.

Has anyone introduced conures as adults? How did this go? Do they share a cage? Is this a long process trying to introduce 2 birds?

I know for a fact that my Ekkie doesn't need a friend. I got him from the shelter that I once volunteered at, and he had no interest in other parrots. He was protective of his cage, and liked attention from the volunteers. He had nothing to do with the other parrots that were there. My conure on the other hand appears lonely, and I don't think she particularly cares about human attention.

Goodwill has saved me a fortune. This little Conure will destroy shirt after shirt. I go through at least 3-4 a week. She loves putting holes in shirts. If anyone comes across cheap t-shirts please let me know.
