Kiwi is 7 months old, I've had him a couple of weeks now. Started to teach him hello (he sort of came home knowing that word already, but working on getting him to say it on demand - when I say hello to him)

Now I just have to work on getting him to say it clearer/slower, any tips on that, or is he still considered young to talk and I'm expecting too much?

Aww, Kiwi sounds so cute when he talks! Adorable! :)

The more you say it, the more clearer it would be, if you say hello slower, I guess Kiwi would say it slower too. Not exactly sure what age when a eclectus talks, but every bird is different, some talks within a week while others doesn't talk at all.

For my parrot Ozzie (Alexandrine), he is pretty young when he started talking. He first started to say hello when he was just 18 weeks old, he's 20 weeks now, and he can say hello, come here, peek o boo, and what ya doin? His word is not very clear but it's getting better, he doesn't have the issues of saying the word too fast though, so hopefully other members can give you more info on that :)

Oh how fun! Oliver is almost five months old and he is trying to say: I love you, hello, ah oh, and mommy.

Off topic, I love your play stand! It looks like so much fun for Kiwi. I have one as well but the branches on mine are not a swirvy as yours. And it looks like you have lots of neat things hanging. Where did you get yours?

We're working on 'I Love You' now too :) He makes a 3-syllable sound so I think he's trying, but I can't make it out yet lol.

The playstand we got at a bird store, it had less "branches" initially, my husband purchased extra perches/wood and put it together. I think the main 'tree' part is called Java Tree. Then he installed some eyelets on the ends of each branch so we can hang toys.

Kiwi climbs all around his cage (upside down too!) but doesn't have any interest in the hanging toys on the playstand yet. He's still a bit clumsy too :)

I think we might have the same stand as I too got mine at the bird store and it has the less "branches" you speak of. I think it's what your husband added that makes Kiwi's so awesome.

I find Oliver is not as interested in the more expensive toys but rather plays with an empty tp roll stuffed with tissue on each end and a treat tucked inside. He spends long periods of times doing hilarious gyrations trying to get to the treat. He also loves this plastic holder that two bottles of hand soap was attached to. Go figure!

Oliver seems quite swift at hanging upside down too and loves climbing all over the place in his cage when he's in there, which is not too often except when I'm at work.

Thank you for the info!

Kiwi is really cute when he's talking, I don't really know much about Eclectus parrots, but I agree in what LoveMyparrots said.
