When children have consequences for bad behavior, it's not so much punishment, as it is "molding" a well rounded individual. It's a moral responsibility to teach right from wrong....and I might add, as a teacher(retired) that there are many parents who fall down on the job. It's much easier to ignore, than to address. Punishing a child has very little to do with being a bad mother....

There ARE children on here, you know:p. Or is it only me?!:11:
