I know I'm biased but I think he's just the cutest ever.

He is cute! And a little stunned by this new bigger world?
Is he clipped or flighted?

The breeder/store gave him a slight clip so that he can glide but not fly...
He was definitely overwhelmed. And a plane flew over head that caused a little head turning concern for him :)

Aww, that's sweet (scary for him though).
I've got a harness for my GCC Pazu but he's fully flighted and quite flighty. So I'm curious about other people's GCC with harness'.
Your guy will get used to it and the oddities, the prize is awesome.

Loki doesn't scare easily. He freezes unless he's away from me... Then he tries to get to me.
If he's on my shoulder he will.not.move. Lol

You maybe slightly biased but I have to agree he is awfully cute!!:D

Thanks!

And FYI that darn harness is so darn small it's hard to adjust on a little bird!!! His weight is 69-74 g depends on the time of day... That's little...

Wow! He sure is cute! What an amazing feeling it must be getting them in a harness and being able to take him outside safely! My sun conure, Lemon has been on his training for maybe two months now and he still freaks out when the harness goes around his head and he decides he wants it off and can't get it off. Sometimes I feel like I'll never be able to get him to wear one:(. How was Loki with the training? How long did it take you to finally get him to accept it?

Loki had no problem with me encircling his head with my thumb and forefinger and closing his eyes like the dvd said. He also allowed me to stretch his wings and move them as long as I counted to three. He's generally a brave baby.

However when I first got the harness he did not want it anywhere near him. I hung it on his cage so he saw it all the time and would rub his body with it for about a week. It's only been about two weeks and I probably didn't do it right. He lets me put it over his head with no issue, it's the adjusting to get it "just right" that he doesn't totally like. Once it's on and adjusted properly he forgets it is even there. The first time I put it on him a few days ago was a total fail and he was mad at me for a whole day. Yesterday he indicated he might be ok with it again and today we did two sessions. The second went much smoother and is when I took him outside. I think he will start to associate it with fun stuff as he loves to be with me. Hopefully as time goes by I get better at knowing how loose it needs to be to get it on, so the adjusting to his size is smoother. It's a real pain, and Loki wants to perch on my finger while I do it, which makes adjusting it hard one handed.

The jury is still out to see if I pushed him too fast to accept it. As the days go by hopefully he will be excited and not go the opposite way. So I'll update. He seemed to really enjoy it today and after I put him back in his cage I did bring him out for a quick snuggle before bed and he seemed normal.

My Amazon only wants to chew on hers. Not afraid of it. Just wants to chew it. I hope she gets over that as she would love to go outside too.

Loki wouldn't think of chewing his. He also refuses to take treats from my hand. It almost offends him. He's a little weird. :)

That's great! Lemon is also okay with lifting his wings and letting me rub my fingers over his eyes and around his neck. I also hung it in his cage for weeks and he will play with The harness and actually gets excited to see it because he knows he gets treats when it's around. But as soon as it gets around his neck and he decides he wants it off he kind of freaks out when he can get it off and that sets us back:(. I feel like he only tolerates putting his head through the opening for a treat but then wants to pull it out as quickly as he can. I don't even put his head through the actual part that's meant to go around the neck. I just Kaina make a loop with the harness and put his head through that so it's not too tight and he gets used to the idea of having it on and then pulling it off. The time actually did put it on properly he freaked out a lot (actually 2 times). Only time he has really bit me hard. I guess my guy is just gonna take a lot more work!

Way to go Loki!! :D Great pictures!!

I love that you were able to get him to wear it!! Chiqui will be next. :54:

Chiqui begs to differ..... :20:

Love it!!! Still working on getting Quinn to not be afraid of it. He loves to play with sweatshirt strings so I was completely caught off guard that he would be afraid of the harness just sitting there. I try petting him with it and he just runs away. Going slow because I really want to be able to take him out and about this summer.
