Banker, Muloccan Cockattoo
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer even though Covid19 is messing everything up.
My Cockattoo Banker had a bigger feather from under her wing area that was dangling around. I knew that I shouldn't pull it out. It was getting caught under her feet, and getting in her way for a couple of hours. What should a friend do to help a bird out? She didn't look like she was in pain, but it was tripping her up somewhat.

It is not uncommon for a wing feather that is naturally being molted (replaced) to become loose prior to it naturally falling-out. Since it is common for wing feathers to be replaced in pairs (balanced left and right). Be watchful of another feather in near the same position become loose on the other wing.

Pull it or clip that feather so it can smoothly. That damaged feather will damage other feathers those touching its damaged.

Your bird may take care of it own his own...Mine has...If you try to wiggle it and he screams, it is hurting...
Was it injured?
When you touch it, what happens?

My Banker is a very uncommon bird. She is a super piecefull very well mannered friend. She would of let me pull it out if I wanted too? It came out later on that night. I always keep track of what's at the bottom of her cage, play area and her pertching spot. I seen her bitting at it, she must of got it. Thanks for the info
