Lovebirds?

I had a question, I am planning to get a new bird, a lovebird, and I was wondering which gender to get, or which gender would bond the most? And which gender would live best alone, with almost constant contact with me? it would be very happy, I just wonder which gender bonds the most or gets the most protective? I am new here, I would appreciate some good advice. Thanks!
