After a long two months of trust building, Lukah finally lets me pet him and doesn't run from my fingers! It's been a long time coming, let me tell you. He had four previous owners (hes only 6 months old) and had never learned to trust any of them. He also spent a month with a very aggressive parent-raised conure. He hated hands! He would come up to my face, preen my hair and give kisses, but the second my hand came up it was like a monster to him.
As of two days ago I can officially pet him. It's so great! He gets all poofed up and closes his eyes and loves it! (Even though he often still "bites" though it's more like licking, my fingers, I think it's more out of affection now.
Also, if I put my finger up to him he will sometimes nibble on it a bit and then hold it with one foot while he does something else, like play with a toy or preen. SO CUTE!
