Really Beautiful! The Photo of Scarlets is Ethereal. The photo of the macaws in flight is awesome too.

Thank you for posting this thread, Tami. Great photo of the Hyacinths. I wasn’t aware of the wild macaws in Florida. Sweet video of the blue and golds sharing a banana.

Heart-warming to see these birds flying free.

Gut-wrenching to see poaching of these birds.

No question in my mind that humans are the invasive species.

Thanks for these nice images of macaws in the wild.

Oh you are welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I did.

I had no idea about the Blue & Golds in Miami. How cool is that? Than of course the horror of the poachers. I agree w/ you rdc. :(

I feed the local birds and I would be in my glory if I had 10-15+ B&G macaws flying over and eating bananas out of my hands, that is just unreal!!

We have a very large colony of quakers here in NJ. The story is they were either set free or escaped a boat for the pet trade back in 1968. And have been thriving here and in Brooklyn NY and elsewhere for 50 years.

There's also a really thorough video about all the parrots in California. I found it last night when I was viewing the other videos. California has a lot, I was really surprised. At the end of the video the guy posted a few hybrid species. It was super cool & very interesting. The only critique I have was he labelled the DYH Amazon 'Yellow Head Amazon' :) He may have mislabeled other species, but I noticed that one.
If I can find it again, I'll post it here. :)

I found it, it is a little long b/c there are so many.

Incredible video, Tami, thank you for looking it up. I had no idea there were so many wild flicks in California, this thread really makes me want to visit. I’ve been feeding wild birds for years, I can’t imagine having wild parrots show up for a meal.

I know me too!
I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd like to travel to CA just to see the parrots. Ha :) I am a wildlife photographer & would LOVE photographing wild parrots. Bucket list for sure.

I’m not sure where you are in Texas. But, before you head west to CA, you should go south. You have a bunch of parrot colonies in your own state, including QPs.
There are large colonies of Green parakeets & Red-crowned Parrots in the Rio Grande Valley. I think they said about 2500 Red-crowns? I found this out the other night while on You Tube as well.
I'd post the video, but it's really long & it takes a while for them to get to the parrot section. So, cool.
If I had to guess, I'd say there might be wild parrots in most of the southern states. . . :o
