WOOP WOOP!!!

So today I took Conlan, my GCC, to get his wings trimmed. I was telling her about his demonic behavior at home and she gave me a few suggestions on how to stop the biting and BOOM! Instant change.

Turns out I wasn't being the boss enough and he knew it. Since them he's been steeping up to everyone in my home, sitting on my shoulder, and even relaxing upside down in my hand. IT'S INSANE!!

He did however show his true colors when a friend went to play with my hair as he was on my shoulders. He bit and went right back into the cage as a punishment.

I'm beyond excited! The bititng has almost completely stopped and he's been a total sweetey all day

She suggested not letting him bully. When I'm holding him and he bites to do a sudden drop off my arm. Not hard, just enough for him to let go. Or you can flip him on his back quickly. She also lightly grabbed his beak between fingers. Lightly! Not pulling. Just like a 'I got your nose' you'd do with a baby. And normally fingers near his face would cause a bite, note he thinks it's fun and will even preen my nails. He just knew that if he bit hard enough enough times id put him down and go away. Now I just ignore it.

She also mentioned to take him to safe, yet unfamiliar places like a friends house, and handle him. This way he's in a place he's unsure of and you become the safety net. Mind you his wings are trimmed. But if you have friends that aren't afraid, having them over or going to their place with him, pass him around so he gets used to being handled by different people. JUST KEEP IT SHORT! Don't over tax him with long periods of time. And make it fun. Each person has a different treat or toy
