male moustache parrot

hi im Danaan

i just got a 11week old male hand raised moustache parrot, his name is chaplin.
he hasent got his adult colours yet but he seems to be changing every minute? please let me know the speed it takes to get there adult colours,
its summer where i am if that makes any difference? i have a box of long thin multicoloured leather strings and thought of hanging them from the top of his cage. is leather ok for him to nibble on and play with?
i have been giveing him peanut butter as a treat is that ok for him?
