Masking Tape on Door frame

I have tried everything on my door frame where I am renting to prevent my conure from eating it. The cloth seems to work, but I am wondering if I can use masking tape to prevent him from eating the wood up there. I have plenty of toys etc, but he is flighted and likes to go way up there.

THe adhesive on tape is not good for him and even if he doesn't ingest it will make a mess out of feathers. IMHO.

What was stated above is 100% true.
We use bubble wrap a place it so that painters tape is behind the bubble wrap as is folds over itself, which keeps the tape out of sight.

Sadly, nothing is going to halt a determined Parrot, especially a determined Conure!
