Meet Jasmine, my pineapple green cheeked conure

Hi everyone. I have been watching this forum for weeks and have now registered! I am the proud owner of a beautiful young pineapple green cheeked conure called Jasmine. She was born in April 2012 and came to live with us in July. Her previous owner only had her for 1 week and because she flew onto their babies face and scratched him, they decided to get rid of her BUT that was our gain as she is absolutely gorgeous. She is learning to talk (she can say 'hello Jasmine', 'pretty girl' and 'who's a clever birdie') and tricks she has learnt include spinning in a circle and hanging like a bat. She is learning that we ignore her if she bites us and gets treats when she is gentle.

I had never realised how much personality a little bird could have! I've kept budgies and parakeets before but Jasmine has blown me away - she is so funny and clever and loving I can't believe I've only had her since July!!

Welcome to the forum! Their personality is amazing right!? My lil Rio was a character, but sunshine is 3 times worse! He plays on his back, etc. Amazing how different they can be. And how much they can make us laugh and be happy.

Ahhhh .. This is exciting!! I'm hoping to get a Pineapple GCC in a few weeks too. The breeder I am using has eggies and by next week I will know if the babies are in there.

I loved ready your post. I find these types of conures to be very beautiful and am excited to learn they can learn to speak!

Welcome! I'm new here too. Jasmine is indeed beautiful. My Chiquita hangs upside down and lies in the palm of my hand. They can be real comedians. lol
