Mini - Budgie, RIP gorgeous girl.
So this morning while on Facebook, one of the pet shops near me posted a picture of a beautiful little budgie. It was love at first sight lol, so I went down and got her! :) Here's some photos! She's currently outside by the Window so Audrey can see her through the glass. I think Audrey is impressed because right away she was making her happy song! Yay!

(Sorry for the bad phone pictures lol)

Looks like a very healthy bird and gorgeous colors, congrats on Mini:)

Ahh, so I have heard of this Mini... ;) PERFECT name! She's adorable! I'm fussing she's hand tamed?

Thanks everyone! :) She is hand tamed yes, but still very nervous, she flies all around when I walk near her cage so I'm going to give her a few days to settle in before I attempt on putting my big scary hands in the cage lol!

Audrey is in love with her LOL just stares at her through the glass singing to her! I am surprised she's not super jealous and angry! xD

Yeah the lady in the shop said its possible "she" could turn into a "he" but I don't mind lol.

Most pet stores (even parrot-specialty ones) don't realize how easy budgies are to sex! Mini's cere is pink, which is a telltale sign of an immature male (or a mature one of certain color mutations). Girls always have pale bluish white ceres when immature or not in breeding condition, or crusty brown when in breeding condition. :)

I believe she is really a he! Pink cere's in budgies means males! (agree with Moonchild) And he's gorgeous!!!!

He looks like he *might* be a recessive pied, and if so the cere will remain pink. If dominant pied, the cere will turn a purplish color, then into blue.

Thanks for the Info guys! The lady in the pet shop said "she" wasn't nippy at all as well which was a sign that it may be a boy rather than a girl! Maybe I should think of a new name? LOL! I dunno!

I feel sad for "her" though, she's sitting so still, so nervous and scared! :(

He is gorgeous. I've never seen that mutation on a budgie before. Very unique little guy.

he is gorgeous, today must be budgie day, I came home with two new ones today.
great minds think alike :)
I posted it on the budgie/cockatiel forum.

congrats on your new addition

Thanks guys! I've never seen those colours either so I just had to have her! I keep saying her lol, I might get her dna tested, just so I can be sure! xD!

I'll go have a look at your budgie;s too! :D I love them, they are too cute, and have so much personality. I always had budgies growing up.

There really is no need to do a dna test on a budgie. Assuming those photos are an accurate representation, Mini is 100% male. :)

agreed, both on young male, and definitely agree very very beautiful :D
