On the search for an adoptable bird with previous training, my husband and I ran into an adorable six year old Sun Conure named Sunshine. She was almost 7 hours away in drive time so we went out this weekend to pick her up and bring her home.

She's settling in awesome, she loves heads and shoulders and grooming everyone.

Unfortunately she likes to antagonize our Amazon by sitting on his cage making him scream NO at her. She however gets along well with our Cockatiel, Carly, and they chill together chirping happily so far.

She's still a bit nippy at times, but we're working to try and break her of some minor bad habits she came with... Such as inviting herself to bites from my snacks and meals.

She is beautiful!
Please beware that allowing her to be on top of the amazon's cage is really putting her toes and possibly her life in danger. I know of a couple birds who have lost toes to this vary thing.

She's beautiful! And a little cheeky by the sounds of it! ;) :)

you could place a light blanket on top of your Amazons cage to protect her toes.

I have blankets on my senegal, lovebirds, and conure cages to protect any of my birds that happen to land on top.

We're moving the amazon into his new cage tomorrow so sunshine will be much safer from the amazon. I mentioned the issue of the possible toes being snapped by the amazon so we decided to keep her away from his area until the move.

She seems to be less antagonistic as time goes on, but she thinks she's the boss bird of the house!

She is such a people bird, she completely ignores all toys in her cage as long as people are around, head bobs and flutters wings to demand attention!

What a sweet little conure! I love the suns, they are so beautiful. Her name is perfect! You have quite a flock, I'm jealous! :)

She loves her bath! You can hear Arco, our amazon, in the background.

My boy's name is "Sunny". His yellow is really starting to pop on his back. He's 9 months old. Your Sunshine loves the water! She's beautiful.
