How much melatonin can I give to a Ringneck to calm down its aggressive biting and make it stay perched on my shoulder without flying away from me?

Welcome to the forums!

I’ve never heard of melatonin being used for taming purposes and it sounds like a bad idea. I’m not sure that’s safe for a parrot either.

You should look at our taming sub forum here for more information regarding that:

I would strongly advise against giving your ringneck any melatonin. One, it might be unsafe and harmful, and two, I doubt it'd work the way you want it to.

No!!

Medications in general will not achieve your goals!

Try longer sleep periods that are dark and near silent for as long as twelve hours may help!

Birds choose to bit as a means of stopping unwanted contact. They need to trust you before they will allow contact.
