Hello Folks,

I'm Mike in South Surrey BC

I'm a retired trades person/millwright/welder/carpenter/electrician all TQ. and Bartender<VBG>

I have had pets: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, dogs,cats. did I miss any<G>

I currently have a 6 year old Cockatiel "TIEL"

My budgies 9 have 2 pair nesting and a couple more pair going through the motions.

My Zebra finches 5 :have 2 chicks they are raising

Hmmm, I guess it's true.....that you learn things in unusual places.....FB, I'd have put $$$ on the fact that Providence was in BC, not BC itself...oh, well, guess that shows me I need to read more about BC.....

Welcome, Mike! I'm originally from BC myself, though central/northern rather than southern. My boyfriend grew up in Kamloops, the lucky turd. We're both now Saskatchewanites , and we just looooove winter. And birds of course. Glad to see another Canadian on board!

I also lived in the interior of BC 7 years in the Caribou/Quesnel/Likely/Williams Lake and 30+ years of high and heavy construction throughout BC.

Good to see another BC'er here! I'm over on the Island. Lots of birds & other critters at my place, too - currently 14 various parrots, 2 dogs, 1 snake & 1 lizard...2 more Lovebirds will be arriving on Thursday. All of the critters are rescues, and all loved. Sigh. Our friends all consider our place "the zoo". We love it, but when all 14 birds decide to make a racket, you can hear it for blocks!

Oh! You were right by where I was born and where my family currently resides - the ever delightfully smelling Prince George! I mainly grew up in Dawson Creek, though.
