Hello everyone,

What do you think about Military Macaws if you compare this with Blue and Gold Macaws? You can't find much on the internet of Military's and on some facebook groups they describe the Military's like the Scarlets.
The first 3 / 4 years very kind but after an age of 4 years they can become a one person bird and agressive to others. Some people also say they can be nippy like the Scarlets when they reach an adult age.

Ziggy, Kai, and Seiji (blue, yellowface, and dilute budgies)
Jasper (yellow-naped amazon)
Lilla (senegal parrot)
Snowberry (yellow-crowned amazon)
Cricket (pacific parrotlet)
Militaries are very temperamental compared to the much mellower blue-and-golds...
Their personalities are often compared to those of cockatoos'.
Scarlets are high-strung and nippy as well, but different.

To help, make sure they get 12-14 hours of sleep, a balanced diet, and plenty of socialization if you want them not to be a one - person bird.

It's true for all parrots that babies are usually sweet and put up with us.
As adults they expect respect and to be treated as an individual. As well as not being able to sit in a cage all day they like did when younger. Plus hormones. Adults are still wonderful but if aren't meeting all those hours out if the cage and hours of your attention and stuff to do. Parrots in general will start acting out , screaming, bites, plucking or other behavior.
