We're thinking about re-homing a second CAG. The bird hasn't had the best diet, but that's been changing. The previous owner has had to give him (we're not sure on the sex) up due to ongoing dementia. The bird, Buddy, looks in good shape but has started shredding feathers. We're not worried about any of this.

It's the cage. We have a spare cage, it's 22" x 24" x 36". This would only be for a few months until we get another cage, and re-arrange the bird room.

Is this too small? Our G2 was in this until we got him a nice big King cage.

And with all the crazy going on, we're both home with is a plus I guess.

That cage is WAY WAY too small for a Grey. A good rule of thumb is he whould have 2X his outstretched wing span inside the cage. But really, the biggest cage you can fit or aford is best. There is no such thing as a too big cage.

THanks for considering a rehomed Grey !!

Gandalf has a huge cage, in fact the other birds love his cage too :) I need to ask what type of cage was he in before.

If you elect to bring an additional parrot into your home, you really need to consider if you will have the energy to provide your existing Parrots the care and interaction time and not have to divide that time with an additional Parrot.

Also, you should highly consider taking this new Parrot to your Avian Professional prior to bring s/he home for a complete 'New' Parrot physical examination. When s/he comes home, you will need to keep s/he separate for your other Parrots for 2 - 4 weeks depending on what is or is not found in its full septum blood testing.

The size is limiting, but will due for a limited time until a new cage is obtained.
