Molting

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and I have an important question.
My parrot, named Bird is a blue fronted Amazon. He/she is 9 years old and I've been the only owner.

Bird is molting for the third time in as many months. I've not seen this before. Birds tail feathers are looking kind of ratty as well.

Is this normal? I'm wondering if it's an age thing??

I appreciate any advice I can get.

Hello,

I'm not quite sure about the molting, though my cockatiel had molted many times this year as well. I asked my vet about it and she said it could be because of the drought (I live in California). She said I shouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for your reply. I live on the west coast of Canada and it was a very dry summer as well. Perhaps it was the same for my bird.
