I lost my beloved Blue Crown conure, Briana at the end of October. She was only 10 and I expected to have her for many more years. She died suddenly of what the vet thought was a brain bleed.

My Nanday, Rowdy and I miss her terribly. Bri was an amazing bird who talked to me all day, and was always sweet and cuddly. She was the best talking bird I've ever had. She had to have challenging toys that took her a long time to figure out. She was a little mechanic who loved to take things apart.

I'll never forget her.

We do have a new flock member named Pete. He is a 28 year old Yellow Crowned Amazon. Rowdy became immediately happier when he came in the house with me. I love him, too.

So very sorry for your loss. :(

I am so sorry for your loss. I just lost a 9 year old Illiger's macaw in June named Diego. He was a very good talker and would say words in context. I miss him every day as he really was my little buddy. Diego died of a sudden fatal stroke. Kind of like how your Briana went. Your BCC sounded so much like my Diego that I had to share. I am glad you opened your heart to the amazon. I am going to be opening my heart to a RFM this spring. Getting ready for the new arrival keeps me positive but there are times of the day that I miss my Diego very very much.

Hugs for you from someone who knows what you are going through. She will not be forgotten.

Last week I finally constructed and completed Diego's scrapbook. Lots of very fond memories in those pictures.

Sorry to hear your lose.

Just writing that post sent me into a horrible crying spell. I haven't yet been able to look at pictures of her or to make a scrapbook.

Thank you all for understanding.
