I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I have a green wing macaw (5 yo male) an orange wing amazon (4yo male) and e blue front conure about 5 years old Female. They are kept in cages in a screen house 24/7 unless the temp drops to below 45F. I have had birds before but not parrots. I am retired so I can sent much time with him out of the cages. They are caged at about 7/8pm until they wake up tne next morning. None of the 3 get along but they dont get aggressive when kept a few feet part.

None of my three birds get along. Is there a way to get them to warm up to each other? Im afraid the macaw can inflict harm to the smaller ones.

Hello JohnGam & Welcome to the Parrot Forums.

The only way to prevent injury is to separate them.

Hello and welcome! I agree with Tami about keeping them separated, that's the only way to make sure they all stay safe with the size differences.
I'd also love to see pictures!

Welcome, thanks for joining!

While it would be nice to have your flock be friends and play together, the size differences are monumental. Be thankful you only need a few feet of space to keep the peace! Know they are constantly aware of each other, but one day one or more may become curious and approach the others in peaceful manner. It is possible for friendships to develop with mixed sizes, but there is always the possibility of danger.

I am in the same situation.

i have one big Macaw and two Amazons and none of them get along.

its tough but we just have to keep them apart as well.

I only have one bird and he can't even get along with himself, much less anybody else.

Welcome. Glad you found us!!

Igor the Greenwing he is five years old and have had him since he was 3 months.. about 35 word vocabulary but ..he does not talk to me but will talk to strangers
Charlie --orange wing amazon about 4years old only knows how to whistle
Gwinn 13 year old Conure. The only female I have. Follows me WHEREVER I go. and gives a squeaky "HELLO" when the fone rings.

These birds do not get along so I have to referee.
I am married, ex Navy and raised 5 kids which I thought qualified me to raise 3 birds. An am an ex market analyst; retired 2 years ago at age 81.
I need someone to point me in the right direction to post pictures or get info on how this site operates
