Welcome to the forums @Brn - though I am sorry to hear your budgie is having some issues. What is his name by the way?

Sometimes issues with balance or inability to grip the perch can be an indicator of a health problem, but it would be difficult to diagnose exactly what sort of problem from here and it would be best to consult an avian specialist vet if you can. When was the last time he had a wellness check? I'm not sure where in the world you are located or if you already have an avian vet that you regularly consult with, but the following resource may help you to locate one close to you ...

I hope this helps you and your little one, and I wish you both the very best!

You should get your budgie a flat platform perch to stand on so he can get a good night sleep. They are sold to fit into the corner of a cage.

Its possible that your budgie has a tumor in his pelvis that's putting pressure on the nerves to his legs causing paresis (partial paralysis) of his legs. I have a female budgie that develops temporary paresis of her legs when she lays eggs. The egg passing through her pelvis puts pressure on her nerves and she temporarily (for a couple weeks) can't walk. Needless to say I'm doing everything I can to prevent her from laying any more eggs.
