My Mitto is molting

The first bird to get molt in the season is Mitto.He is five years boy.



In the cage is Alex, 18 years old male.

Three of my birds are moulting at the moment and it looks like a snowstorm of feathers. You clean them up leave the room and there is a bunch more. not my favorite time of the year. It is amazing how many feathers come off a little bird. Alison

Well, at least you have a stunning Mitto to look forward to in another month or so when the molt is over and his new feathers have grown in My Kiwi is looking pretty ratty right now, and has already lost 2 tail feathers over the past few days. He didn't have much of a molt to speak of last year, so I expect him to have a rough molt this year
