Hello, I'm Justin. I came to this site looking for some wonderful information on parrots and can't wait to start looking. I don't currently own any birds, though I have rehabilitated a few wild birds in the past. I plan to get some kind of parrot in the near future and was just wondering where to start.

Hi Justin and welcome to the forum, I'd say by deciding to do research before actually getting your new fid (fid=feathered kid) your already off to a good start, there are many good posts here on the subject and I would also recommed picking up a copy of "Parrots For Dummies", a very easy to read and informative resource for not only the beginner but also for those experienced at being owned by parrots for years, this is a very active forum with many knowledgeable members, so if you have questions, just ask away, it shouldn't take long to get an answer, we hope you enjoy your stay :)

Thank you so much!! I already love it here!

Cowtown, I can already tell there are a lot of good people here. It's not too often that you come across such a friendly place.

Hi! Welcome Justin. I'm new also. Bob is right, "Parrots for Dummies" is a great book! You should really read it. I think its great that you are doing research before getting a bird. Are you considering buying from a breeder or adopting? Either way, what kind of bird are you wanting to get in the future? Any ideas?

In the future I would like to get a female eclectus parrot. They are so beautiful to me. I believe I'm going to start out with either a love bird or English budgie though. I would love to start out with a blue crown conure, but the cage I have is too small for one.

Justin, welcome, make yourself comfortable, it's a long long beautiful journey
