1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
So there is this guy (actually a grown man, he must be in his mid 40s) who lives on the OPPOSITE side of the complex from us. He has lived here almost a year, and since a few months after he moved in, he has been driving me up the wall with his music. I kid you not, he keeps his door wide open (even in freezing weather) BLASTING music ALL DAY long. He even sits outside when he smokes and loudly sings along (and sounds like a dying donkey). Even Kiwi starts whimpering a little when he hears this man sing. It doesn't help he seems to prefer my least favorite genres of music (country and gospel). I'm not outside that often, so other neighbors who occasionally have their radios or tvs up don't bother me (can't hear normal "loud" volumes inside). But this guy, I can hear him very loud inside my apartment! He's been hollering along to his music, reading a book on his patio, for a solid hour and a half right now. I so wish I could park a truck full of pissed off, screeching macaws right next to him so he could experience the same "nails on a chalkboard" effect I am. Here I sit worrying Kiwi vocalizing for a couple minutes or letting out an odd contact call is going to get us evicted! I've heard the landlady chew him out on several occasions because of it (I'm not the only one who's noticed), and I don't understand after he continues to do this crap why he's not kicked out.

I'll end my rant now :p Does anyone else have neighbors this annoying or have we just hit the jackpot of worst neighbor? Feel free to complain about your neighbors too, I know I'm not the only one!

i hear you kiwi.

i wasn't so worried about the bird noise when i first got oxy has he has never really that vocal, but then i got prince and bruno and boy did the noise level rise.

i have a lovely older couple that live next door and i asked them if the birds noise was a bother, but they said they cant hear them unless they're (my neighbours) outside and they dont bother them. i also have a neighbour behind me that i didnt bother asking as i couldnt give two hoots if the birds bother them. my birds only make noise between around 7.30 am and 6pm (prince woukd start round 6am in bruno's absence), but they have their music blaring and kids yelling and screaming till all hours of night/early morning. there has been a few times where if it wasnt for wanting to live in peace with my neighbours i'd have called the cops.

I feel you on the temptation to call the cops. Out of control kids with deadbeat parents can be miserable. Especially when you are more responsible with your pet than they are with their kids. At least your good neighbors find you a good neighbor too :-) Your doing something right at least.

Our direct neighbor, who we share a wall with, actually has karaoke parties in her apartment a few times a month. We've been to a few, and inside her apartment it's really loud. I can just barely hear it in my apartment, easily remedied by turning the tv on or my iPod up a little. If our thin walls almost block out karaoke in the apartment next door, you can imagine how annoying this guy is to be able to hear him across the courtyard, inside. I toss around the idea of calling the cops on him at least a few times a week, but he's a general creeper and I want to remain off his radar as much as possible. My husband actually had to confront him a few months back because he was being a bit of a perv towards me and my husband sister (who I hang out with quite a bit). I'm 24 (and still get mistaken for being a highschooler), my SIL is 28 and this man is at least in his 40s.

I feel your pain! My upstairs neighbor used to play loud music all the time. Luckily he moved out when his lease expired. I hope things work out for you!:green2:

oh my!! I lived in a condo for many years. I tend to play my music loudly and i had a sun conure, BUT that was small potatoes compared to hearing the people who shared a wall with me having these horrific, drunken fights!! I would hear screaming, hitting, kids crying, etc. Often one of the neighbors called police.
If people just play music, or have a playing child who makes noise with footsteps, i'll take it, but brawling is totally out of control! ugh.
(and yes, playing loud music with doors/windows open is just obnoxious!!)
Luckily now, i have all wonderful neighbors.....and i bought a house on a double lot!
