Will be adding a parrot when the right one finds me.
A couple of months ago I met this girl while visiting my best friend at the pet shop where she works. I don't actually know her gender but I call her a female, and I've "named" her Soleil.

She's a super sweet, social parrotlet. Her cage companion died, so she is the only solitary 'let in the store, which makes me sad. I stop by to visit her regularly, and she bops over to see me when I get there.

I want to take her home, but I'm not willing to pay the outrageous price they want for her.

I just want to spoil her with toys and good food.

They might go down on the price if you offer to buy the supplies needed for her from them, doesn't hurt to try. She's awfully cute. :)

May I ask what they are going for there? They are $100-150 here.

My friend is trying to work out a deal for me with her boss; he likes me, I'm their local source of all knowledge chinchilla-related and I am happy to spend my money there (only pet shop in town). But he wants $250 for her! No thank you! $100-150 I would do.

She is cute and super sweet; I love how social she is.

250 is really high. Keep bonding with her, eventually you may get her at a more reasonable price.

I am hoping to maybe stop by again tomorrow; need to get some new dog toys. I enjoy visiting her.

Here is a price list you can print out of one of the best breeders of parrotlets. May be take it in and point out that for $250 you could buy one AND ship it by plane for the same cost!

TPR - Parrotlet Price List

Well, Soleil's price tag was incorrect - that was the price for her and her companion together. Since her companion passed, her price is lower. Finding out what it really is today.

Price for just her is $99. Much better.

Hello,

How long has it been at the store ? If it has been a long time, it will be better for the owner to sell it and get a Bird that will be bought. Mention to the owner that he is paying for food, it will cost him more the longer it is there. If he sells it to you, he will make money out of the food it is eating. If you put it to him this way and get a laugh, you may get a great deal. If it has bonded with you, it wont be an easy sell to anyone else anyway. Best of luck.

does that mean your going to get her!??
I sure hope so, it sounds like you REALLY like her.

she's very pretty, a lutino with red eyes, you don't come across those very often.

I sure hope you come home with her.:)

She's been there several months. The store owner likes me, I stop and talk birds with him when I can.

I'm gonna stop by tomorrow. :)

Kiwi's father was a lutino. She is a pacific green split to lutino. Something like that. LOL

I stopped to see her today - here's another picture! :)
